Central Coast homes at risk of collapsing into ocean
Crisis talks are being held on the New South Wales Central Coast where dozens of homes are at risk of collapsing into the ocean as a result of erosion caused by strong surf.
In a statement, the Central Coast Council said in Wamberal “18 properties, amounting to 43 residences, are impacted with ten residents being provided with temporary accommodation”.
Terrigal MP Adam Crouch told Sky News these residents went through a similar ordeal in 2016 and measures were not put in place to prevent it from occurring again.
“Their frustration is palpable,” he said.
“The last line of defence should not be someone’s living room.”
